FAQs
Is the experience of virtual styling as impactful as in person?
Yes, in fact, time and again I hear from virtual clients how amazing and impactful working with me was. It’s the same feedback I get from my in-person clients. I truly believe that they get just as much out of the experience as my in person clients.
How do you determine my body shape and coloring virtually?
Right from the very beginning, we start with a Zoom call so that I can get a sense of who you are. You send me photos and measurements so that I can get an idea of your body shape and coloring. If you choose a package that includes a closet assessment, I will ask you to try on items with me on Zoom so that I get an idea of your body shape and how clothes drape on your body. One of my superpowers is being able to “see” my clients in garments I find online, and a huge part of this is how much time I spend in the beginning getting to know you and your body.
How does it work shopping online?
Shopping online has huge benefits. For one, I have the ENTIRE internet to choose the perfect items for you. I can get hyper specific, which is more than I can say of shopping in person. I have a shopping system only available to professional stylists, where I can pull items from the internet into one site for easy shopping. You’ll be able to see all of the product photos in one place and can purchase with a couple of clicks. I tell you which size to buy and I only send items that are available in your size.
Once items arrive, we have a 1-on-1 Zoom call in which you try everything on with me. You an also send me photos or videos of one-off items you purchase. I want to make sure you feel supported every step of the way, so I always have a try on call with you to ensure you feel supported, instead of having you purchase a bunch of clothes and try them on alone.
I NEVER have luck shopping online. How will it be different with you?
I’ve spent the last dozen years of my career working on photo shoot sets for e-commerce. I know all the tricks, like pinning and tailoring, that brands use to make a garment look better online. I know what to look for when it comes to the cut of the clothes, the fiber content, reading colors online, different brands and how they fit, and how to interpret all that for you. Do I get it wrong occasionally? Of course, I’m human, after all! But my batting average is going to be exponentially higher than if you were going it alone. Plus, I’m going to be saving you all that time that you would be spending scrolling though website after website.
What are the benefits of virtual styling versus in person?
There are many benefits to virtual styling. The first is that we aren’t limited by the stock currently in the store. Especially post-pandemic, stores aren’t going as deep in their inventories in store as they used to, meaning we have way more options online.
The second is that we can fit styling into your schedule and don’t have to be confined to store hours. If you’re a busy mom, we can fit your try-on call in during nap time, or if you’re a time-constrained professional or entrepreneur, we can have meetings in between conference calls. There’s way more flexibility when working together virtually.
And finally, no traffic or driving, no annoying parking lots, no crowds, and no pushy sales people. Need I say more?
